It's not really a recent thing, so far as I know. The traces of paint are evident on many statues, it's just that they've been bleached by the sun over the years and such.

Still, this is really cool. I love seeing these reconstructions of what ancient buildings looked like in their own time. The detail on this is nice too--like having some people wandering around it for scale.

I don't think. I have made them from existing statues of the temple, for the front statues ; and ancien greek painting for the wall's painting. :)
